Advocacy Letter: Urgent request to stop new intakes into Golden State Annex

Sent to San Francisco ICE ERO on March 11, 2024

On March 11, 2024, we sent a letter signed by 22 immigrant rights groups to San Francisco ICE Field Office leadership expressing grave concerns about unjust conditions at Golden State Annex, exacerbated by ICE's decision to rapidly increase the number of people they send to detention at the facility. Between January 2023 and March 2024, the population at GSA went from 130 to around 400. Most of this increase occurred over a matter of weeks.

Read the letter, as well as supporting letters from people detained inside GSA, below. You can also read our press release about the delivery of this letter.
